Le Festival du film d'El Gouna, fondé en 2017, est l'un des principaux festivals de la région MENA. Le GFF vise à présenter une grande variété de films à un public passionné et averti, tout en favorisant une meilleure communication entre les cultures à travers l'art cinématographique. Son objectif est de mettre en relation les cinéastes de la région avec leurs homologues internationaux dans un esprit de coopération et d'échange culturel. Le festival s'engage à découvrir de nouvelles voix et s'efforce d'être un catalyseur pour le développement du cinéma dans le monde arabe, notamment par le biais de CineGouna Platform, un événement axé sur l'industrie créé pour renforcer les cinéastes égyptiens et arabes et les aider à trouver un soutien artistique et financier. CineGouna Platform présente le programme CineGouna Bridge, qui offre des possibilités de partage et d'apprentissage, le CineGouna SpringBoard, un laboratoire de développement de projets et de coproduction, le CineGouna Market et le Short Film Lounge, un lieu qui crée un lien entre les cinéastes émergents et les cinéastes établis.

GFF aims to showcase a wide variety of films for a passionate and knowledgeable audience, while fostering better communication between cultures through the art of filmmaking. Its goal is to connect filmmakers from the region with their international counterparts in the spirit of cooperation and cultural exchange. The festival is committed to the discovery of new voices and strives to be a catalyst for the development of cinema in the Arab world, especially through CineGouna Platform, an industry-oriented event created to empower Egyptian and Arab filmmakers and help them find artistic and financial support. CineGouna Platform presents the CineGouna Bridge program that provides opportunities for sharing and learning and the CineGouna SpringBoard, a project development and co-production lab; the CineGouna Market, and the Short Film Lounge, a place creating a link between emerging and established filmmakers.
