En 1969, leader très aimé de sa communauté, l’Imam Abdullah Haron fut incarcéré et tué en detention au nom du décret sur le terrorisme de 1967 à Cape town, en Afrique du Sud. il était l’un des premiers morts en durant les jours affreux de l’Apartheid.
Ce court métrage se penche sur les dernières années et la mort de l’Imam. Mélangeant animation, documentaire, interview et image d’archive, THE KILLING OF THE IMAM (LE MEURTRE DE L’IMAM), est réalisé par le petit-fils de l’Imam (the filmmaker), à travers les yeux et l’imagination d’un enfant, il offre un excellent précis d’une vie de principes.

In 1969, a much loved community leader, Imam Abdullah Haron was incarcerated and killed in detention under the terrorism act of 1967 in Cape town, South Africa. His was one of the early deaths in detention during Apartheid’s dark days.
This short film looks at the last few years of the Imam’s life and death. Mixing animation, documentary, interview and archive footage, THE KILLING OF THE IMAM, directed by the Imam’s grandson (the filmmaker), through the eyes of a child’s imagination, offers an excellent précis of a principled life.
