Santiago A. Zannou accompagne son père Alphonse au Bénin, son pays d’origine, 40 ans après son exil. Il est décidé à faire face à ses peurs et à ses mensonges. Durant ce voyage de rédemption, Alphonse cherche à se réconcilier avec sa seule sœur encore vivante. Il tente également d’obtenir le pardon de ses ancêtres, avec l’espérance de cicatriser enfin les blessures du passé.

Mi padre salió de Benín hace ya 37 años. Sin darse cuenta, ha dejado pasar el tiempo esperando a que le llegue un golpe de suerte, gestando poco a poco un fracaso que nunca ha podido o querido admitir. Después de muchos años de silencio y olvido, decide viajar de vuelta al punto de partida, a su tierra natal en busca del reencuentro, del perdón, de la reconciliación… con su familia y consigo mismo.


Santiago A. Zannou acompaña su padre Alphonse a Benín, su país de origen, 40 años después de su partida, para enfrentarle a sus miedos y sus mentiras. En este viaje de redención, Alphonse buscará la reconciliación con su única hermana viva, pero también el perdón de sus antepasados, con la esperanza de cerrar por fin las heridas del pasado.
