Salma, 37 ans, ambulancière urgentiste très accaparée par son travail est en instance de divorce avec Hicham, son mari, sculpteur de 55 ans qui oscille entre l’agressivité éthylique et la passivité.
Mourad, 17 ans, leur fils unique est un garçon doux, élevé en France. Le divorce de ses parents et son retour en Tunisie lui font perdre ses repères. Il trouve auprès d’un groupe islamiste une nouvelle famille, se détourne de sa mère avec laquelle il vivait, et disparaît.
Après quelques jours d’attente et de recherche, Salma reçoit un coup de fil de Mourad l’informant qu’il est parti en Syrie combattre aux côtés des djihadistes.
À l’instar de nombreux parents qui, aujourd’hui, n’admettent pas que leur enfant aille tuer ou se faire tuer au nom d’Allah, Salma décide de partir en Syrie à la recherche de son fils. Elle franchit la frontière syrienne, via la Turquie, et se fait passer pour une militante de la cause islamiste.
Salma va travailler sous la houlette d’un groupe djihadiste de rebelles armés, à qui elle cache sa véritable motivation. Au chevet des blessés, au milieu des concubines, ou derrière les fourneaux, son sérieux est à la mesure de son désir de retrouver son enfant, qu’elle sait dans les parages.
Arrivera-t-elle à retrouver son fils et parviendra-t-elle à l’arracher de l’enfer syrien ?

Salma 37, an ambulance driver, is a witness to the daily harsh reality of Tunisian society. She left her husband, 55 years old artist-sculptor Hicham, for his ethylic passive-aggressive behavior. Disturbed and disoriented, their only son, Mourad 17, drifts away from his mother to find refuge with a Salafi group, before disappearing. When Salma receives a phone call from her son informing her that he left to fight alongside jihadists, she decides to go to Syria to bring him back. She crosses the Syrian border through Turkey and poses as a militant of the Islamist cause. She will work under the control of Jabhat al-nosra, the armed rebel jihadist group affiliated with al-Qaida, while hiding her true motivations… at the bedside of the wounded, in the midst of the concubines, or in the kitchen, her commitment is only equal to her desire to find her child. Will she find him and will she manage to extract him out of the Syrian hell?

سلمى 37 سنة تعمل مسعفة مما يجعلها تعايش الواقع اليومي القاسي للمجتمع التونسي. انفصالها عن زوجها هشام, نحات 55 سنة,نتيجة طابعه العنيف والسلبي أدى إلى اضطراب ابنهما الوحيد مراد 17 سنة. ضياع مراد في دوامة المشاكل العائلية يدفعه إلى ابتعاده عن والديه واللجوء إلى مجموعة سلفية قبل اختفائه تماما. بعد ايام من البحث و القلق, تتلقى سلمى اتصالا هاتفيا من ابنها ليعلمها بأنه التحق بالجهاديين في سوريا. تعقد سلمى العزم على استرجاع ولدها الوحيد فتعبر الحدود التركية نحو الأراضي السورية مخفية هدفها الحقيقي تحت قناع مناضلة إسلامية. تقوم سلمى بالانخراط في جبهة النصرة التابعة لتنظيم القاعدة أين تجد نفسها بين المصابين و المحضيات يظل ثبات سلمى و التزامها على قدر هوسها باسترجاع ابنها… فهل ستنجح في العثور عليه و هل ستقدر على إخراجه من جحيم الواقع السوري؟
