Alioune Babee Ndiaye

Alioune Babee Ndiaye compte parmi les rares producteurs africains de cinéma et de télévision spécialisés dans le dessins animé.
Auteur de pièces de théâtre et de scénario de films, Alioune Babee Ndiaye a créé à Paris en 1998 la société de design et la marque de chaussures LELAND, dont il assurera la Direction Générale pendant quatre ans.
En décembre 2001 il quitte LELAND pour co-fonder à Dakar en janvier 2002 la société de production audiovisuelle et cinématographique, WAAW STUDIO.
Mettre son expérience au service de l’essor du dessin animé africain dans l’industrie internationale de l’animation est son principal objectif. Afro-optimiste lucide, il croit foncièrement au dessin animé comme outil d’aide au développement du continent Africain.
Aujourd’hui en charge de la Direction Générale et Producteur de WAAW STUDIO, il travaille principalement à la mise en place des productions de la compagnie.
Convaincu que le dessin animé africain en est qu’à sa « petite enfance », Alioune Babee Ndiaye a quitté Paris et vit depuis un an à Dakar avec femme et enfants.

Alioune Babee Ndiaye is one of the rare African cinema and television producers specialising in cartoons.

Author of theatre dramas and movie screenplays, Alioune Babee Ndiaye in 1998 created the design company and the shoes trademark LELAND in Paris, a firm where he was the chairman for four years. In December 2001, he left LELAND to co-found the cinema and audiovisual production company WAAW STUDIO in Dakar in January 2002. His main goal is to take advantage of his experience to promote African cartoons within the international animation industry.

As a clear-sighted Afro-optimistic, he truly believes in the potential of animation as a tool to help develop the African continent.

As the Chairman and Producer at WAAW STUDIO, he mainly works on the implementation of the company’s productions. Convinced that the History of African cartoon is only in its infancy, Alioune Babee Ndiaye has left Paris to settle in Dakar with all his family.
