VITA

Master’s degree in German and French literature as well as Media Culture (studies in Tübingen, Paris and Hamburg)

1998-2005 Directing class at filmschool « Konrad Wolf » in Potsdam-Babelsberg, diploma film: PINGPONG,
International Premiere at Critic`s Week, Cannes Filmfestival 2006.

1999 Co-Formation of the Berlin based company risingstar producing showreels for actors.

2001/02 Participant of the Atelier/Masterclass founded by the German-French Film Academy.

(one-year training programme for budding European film producers and distributors, taking place at the « Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg » in Ludwigsburg and « La Femis » in Paris).

2003 Directing-Supervisor for the feature Film « Full of Energy », produced by Great Lakes Film in Uganda, Africa.

Matthias Luthardt is constantly invited to teach at film schools in Germany and abroad. He is also a regular member of festival jurys, a.o. as President of the « Dialogue en Perspective »-Award at Berlin Film Festival 2009.
He is a member of the European Film Academy.

FRENCH EXIT, von Matthias Luthardt im Oktober 2007 ins Leben gerufen,
verschreibt sich der Produktion und Co-Produktion von Kinofilmen,
fiktionalen wie dokumentarischen.

In erster Linie definiert sich FRENCH EXIT als (Co-)Produzent von Filmen, an denen Matthias Luthardt als Regisseur oder Autor/Co-Autor kreativ beteiligt ist.


VITA

Magisterstudium (abgeschlossen) in den Fächern Germanistik, Französisch und Rhetorik bzw. Medienkultur in Tübingen, Paris und Hamburg.

1998-2005 Regiestudium an der Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen « Konrad Wolf » Potsdam-Babelsberg, abgeschlossen mit dem Langspielfilm PINGPONG, Weltpremiere beim Filmfestival in Cannes 2006.

1999 Mitbegründer der Berliner Firma risingstar, Produktion und Inszenierung von Demobandszenen und Coaching von Schauspielern.

2001/02 Teilnahme an der Deutsch-Französischen Masterclass an der Filmakademie
Baden-Württemberg Ludwigsburg und Paris.

2003 Regie- und Produktions-Supervising bei dem Langspielfilm « Full of Energy », Great Lakes Film in Uganda, Afrika.

Seit 2007 wiederholte Lehraufträge an Filmschulen sowie Jurytätigkeiten im In- und Ausland, u.a.
2009 Vorsitz der deutsch-französischen « Dialogue en perspective »-Jury der Berlinale.

2009 Filmische Dokumentation des Projekts « Peace Counts en Côte d’Ivoire » in der Elfenbeinküste, Afrika.

Matthias Luthardt wird von Katrin Näher vertreten, Agentur ABOVE THE LINE.
Er ist Mitglied in der Europäischen Filmakademie.
