Elle est la fille du musicien Ousmane Mbaye qui a promu la musique africaine, sénégalaise en particulier, en Amérique mais aussi en Europe. Durant son cursus au Lycée Blaise Diagne de Dakar, elle a été comédienne dans plusieurs pièces de théâtre.
Amélie Mbaye a vécu aux États-Unis, à Los Angeles, pendant plus de vingt ans, où elle a notamment été chanteuse.
Diplômée de l'École internationale de Tunon en Normandie (France), où elle a fait des études de langues étrangères et de tourisme, Amélie Mbaye parle le français, l'anglais, l'espagnol, le portugais et le wolof.
Avec Naky Sy Savané, elle est une des actrices principales du long métrage FRONTIERES d'Apolline Traoré (Burkina Faso, 2017, Fespaco 2017).
Présentatrice à la radio et la télévision, elle a été actrice dans des films et de nombreuses séries.

Los Angeles based actress, MC and event host, she stars, along with Naky Sy Savané, as main roles in the feature FRONTIERES / BORDERS directed by Apolline Traoré (Burkina Faso, 2017, Fespaco 2017).

Amélie is from Sénégal, born in Dakar, she studied in France majoring in foreign languages and tourism, at the International School "TUNON "in Normandie.

Her career part included several years in the airlines industry as a Flight Attendant, a Television Announcer and TV Host of various shows in Dakar and Los Angeles. She did host an African television program: "Talking drums the African Voice"on Sundays in channel LA 18, in French and English.

Her acting career includes:

- 2002: "Monia and Rama", a soap opera written and directed by Apolline Traore: she was one of the 3 main actors (Aline), produced by Idrissa Ouedraogo, aired on the French channel TV5 and watched in all African and European countries receiving TV5. Shooting in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

- 2004: "Tears of the Sun", produced by Revolution Studio in Hawaii, with main actor Bruce Willis. (character Mrs Azouka).
- 2008: "Clinical care for sexual assaults survivors", docu-fiction directed by Koren Shelton for UCLA Center, International School Medicine in LA (character Dr Touré).
- 2015: "Something about her", movie directed by Carl Colpaert in LA. (character Nkoyo).
- 2015: "FIRST DATE", a Facebook commercial in LA (main character) with more than 50 million views and more than 5500 shares !


- Amelie as an MC, is hosting every year, the Independance day of various countries: Angola, Senegal, Guinee Conakry, France etc…

- 2015: two Certificates of recognition from the State of California and from the Senate, in commemoration of her role in promoting African history and heritage by being a Host for the 2015 African Family Inductees, organized by African Focus.

- Amelie as a Gospel singer, is a member of the Mass Choir of West Angeles Church in LA, presiding by Bishop Blake, with more 4000 members. She is also doing different recordings in studio for CDs as vocal and as a voice over.

- She has released her latest CD "CONFIDENCE" Christian songs in different languages. Her inspiration: Myriam Makeba….

- On a monthly private events she called "MELI MELO EVENTS ", Amélie is inviting people in prestigious places in LA: network, international music, different theme for every event.

- She is invited in several schools for conferences about African culture, the consequences of European colonisation, about music etc…
