Réalisateur hollandais.
Né à Delft (Pays-Bas) [en 1970], il obtient son diplôme de concepteur aéronautique de l’université de Technologie de Delft. Il travaille pour les plus grands constructeurs avant de rejoindre le monde de la finance à Londres. Il passe à la réalisation avec le long métrage Nu.. Ce film à très petit budget remporte de nombreux prix, dont ceux du Meilleur Premier Film au Festival du cinéma néerlandais et celui du Meilleur Film au Festival européen du Film indépendant.

Jan-Willem van EWIJK (1970) grew up in the Netherlands and California. At the age of nineteen, he moved back to Delft to study Aerospace Engineering. After graduating, Ewijk worked in the field of engineering until in 2002, when he changed course, quit his job and wrote and directed his first feature film, Nu. (2006). One year later, his debut was awarded Best Film at the European Independent Film Festival in Paris. His second feature film, Atlantic., premiered in 2014.

Hij rondde zijn studie af en ging werken in zijn vakgebied, totdat hij in 2002 het roer omgooide. Hij nam ontslag, en schreef en regisseerde zijn eerste speelfilm Nu. (2006). Zijn debuut werd een jaar later bekroond als beste film op het European Independent Film Festival in Parijs. Zijn tweede speelfilm Atlantic. verscheen in 2014.
