Fayçal Hammoum

Réalisateur et producteur algérien.

Faycal Hammoum est né en 1981, à Alger. Il y vit et fait son lycée jusqu’à l’âge de 16 ans. Il quitte l’Algérie pour Lausanne (Suisse) où il termine son lycée. Après son baccalauréat, il s’installe à Paris (France) pour des études en droit (Université Paris 2 Assas) puis de Cinéma (CLCLF) où il obtient un double diplôme d’assistant-réalisateur et de monteur. Il retourne à Algers en 2009 et se joint à l’équipe de la société de production THALA FILMS (www.thalafilms.com). Depuis, il a produit plusieurs courts métrages de fiction ainsi que deux longs métrages documentaires. Il a reçu en 2011 et 2012 le Prix du « Meilleur Producteur du monde arabe » au Festival International de cinéma d’Abu Dhabi. En 2016, il réalise son premier long métrage documentaire, Vote OFF sur les élections présidentielles algériennes de 2014. Le film sera interdit de diffusion pour sa Première algérienne (lors du Festival de Bejaia 2016).

Algerian Filmmaker.

Faycal Hammoum is born in Algiers in 1981. He lived there where he went to high school until the age of 16. He left Algeria to live in Switzerland (Lausanne) and follow his studies in high school. After obtaining his baccalaureate he went to Paris (France) to take up his studies in law (ASSAS Paris 2) then Cinema (CLCLF) where he obtained a double diploma of assistant director and editing. He went back to Algiers in 2009 and joined the production society THALA FILMS (www.thalafilms.com). Since then he produced many short movies of fiction as well as two feature documentaries. He was awarded in 2011 and 2012 the title of « Best Producer of the Arab world » in The International Film Festival of Abu Dhabi. He directed his first feature documentary « Vote OFF » in 2016 [the movie is banned in Algeria, the Bejaia FilmFest 2016 is not allowaed to screen it].
