Après avoir été libéré de 10 années de service forcé à l'armée, Faiçal, jeune cinéaste marocain, a débuté une formation autodidacte pour se créer un bagage cinématographique à travers des lectures, visionnages de films, et un travail de terrain avec des cinéastes partageant leur savoir-faire.

Fort d'une expérience d'assistant-réalisateur dans des courts métrages et séries télévisées marocaines, il a également réalisé et monté plusieurs films institutionnels et promotionnels pour des organisations internationales et de coopération. En parallèle, Faiçal s'est également exercé au maniement de la caméra DSLR qu'on lui confie souvent pour couvrir des manifestations culturelles et artistiques. Il a également fait ses premiers pas dans l'écriture scénaristique pour ses projets personnels, et pour une série télévisée marocaine de 30 épisodes.
En 2016, il participe avec son projet de documentaire CERCLES aux 14è Rencontres Tënk de co-production, à Saint-Louis, Sénégal.
Suite à la réalisation de deux films expérimentaux (Décalage, 2015 and Confusion, 2016), Ales, 2018, est le second court métrage fiction de Faiçal, aprèsAlter Ego, 2016, un film autobiographique faisant entrer le spectateur dans une situation à laquelle chacun de nous pourrait être confronté : un combat avec sa propre conscience pour être libre de faire ses propres choix.
Le troisième court métrage fiction de Faiçal (Femme à Clefs, 2019) est en post-production.
Faiçal se consacre actuellement à l'écriture de son premier long métrage fiction intitulé Barzakh.

After 10 years of forced engagement with the army, Faiçal Ben is now part of this young generation of filmmakers that can be counted on. Self-taught, he has finally found in the 7th Art what he has been seeking for so long, his freedom of expression and creation.
Faiçal has started a self-taught training to create a cinematographic background through readings, film screenings, field work with filmmakers sharing their know-how, several master-classes in festivals, and scriptwriting residencies.
Having started his career as an editor, then assistant director on several institutional films, short films and web series, Faiçal also directed several videos of cultural and artistic events. In parallel, he started scriptwriting for his own projects of short and feature films, and for television series.
In 2016, he pitched CIRCLES (CERCLES), his documentary project, at the 14th Rencontres Tënk de co-production, in Saint-Louis, Senegal.
Following two experimental films (Décalage, 2015 and Confusion, 2016) and two short fiction film (Alter Ego, 2016, Ales, 2018), Faiçal's third short film (Femme à Clefs, 2018) is in post-production.
Faiçal also devotes himself to writing a first feature film named Barzakh.
He established in Rabat city his own film production company, Films Beldi Production, with his wife, Carole Guilloux-Benaghrou.
