Catherine CORSINI est une réalisatrice et scénariste.
Elle est connue pour LE RETOUR (2023, Réalisatrice et scénariste), LA FRACTURE (2021, Réalisatrice et scénariste), LA NOUVELLE ÈVE (1999, Réalisatrice et scénariste), POKER (1988, Réalisatrice et scénariste).
Après avoir suivi des cours de comédie auprès d'Antoine Vitez, Catherine Corsini réalise trois courts métrages au début des années 80, tous primés. A 30 ans, elle réalise son premier long métrage, un film noir, POKER, le portrait d'une femme addict au jeu. Elle réalise ensuite un film pour la télévision, INTERDIT D'AMOUR, remarqué dans plusieurs festivals. LES AMOUREUX, présenté à Cannes en 1994, dans la section Cinéma en France, est unanimement salué par la critique. L'année suivante, JEUNESSE SANS DIEU est également à Cannes dans cette même sélection.
Elle se fait connaître du grand public avec LA NOUVELLE ÈVE en 1999, présenté au Panorama de la Berlinale. LA RÉPÉTITION est en compétition dans la sélection officielle du Festival de Cannes en 2001. Elle enchaîne avec MARIÉES MAIS PAS TROP puis LES AMBITIEUX, présenté au Festival de Rome. Son septième film, Partir connait un grand succès public en France et à l'étranger, et est à l'honneur au festival de Toronto. Elle revient à Cannes en 2013 avec TROIS MONDES, présenté à Un Certain regard puis à Toronto, Elle obtient avec ce film le Bayard d'or du Meilleur scénario à Namur. LA BELLE SAISON, Prix Variety de la Piazza Grande à Locarno, obtient deux nominations aux César 2016. Avec UN AMOUR IMPOSSIBLE, adaptation du roman éponyme de Christine Angot, Catherine Corsini a reçu les Prix SACD, Henri Langlois et Alice Guy, et le film a obtenu quatre nominations aux César 2019 (Meilleures actrice, révélation féminine, adaptation et musique originale). Son film, LA FRACTURE, avec Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, Marina Foïs et Pio Marmaï, est présenté en compétition dans la Sélection officielle du Festival de Cannes 2021, puis décroche le César de la meilleure actrice dans un second rôle (par Aïssatou Diallo Sagna).
En 2023, Catherine Corsini revient en compétition dans la Sélection officielle du Festival de Cannes avec LE RETOUR interprété par Aïssatou Diallo Sagna, Denis Podalydès, Virginie Ledoyen, Esther Gohourou, Suzy Bemba.

Catherine CORSINI is a Film Director and Screenwriter.
She is known for LE RETOUR (2023, Director & Screenwriter), LA FRACTURE - THE DIVIDE (2021, Director & Screenwriter), THE NEW EVE - LA NOUVELLE ÈVE (1999, Director & Screenwriter), POKER (1988, Director & Screenwriter).
After taking comedy acting classes with Antoine Vitez, Catherine Corsini directs three short films in the early 1980s, all multi-awarded. At the age of 30, she directs her first feature POKER, a film noir depicting a woman's gambling addiction. She then directs the TV film INTERDIT D'AMOUR, highlighted at various festivals. LOVER (LES AMOUREUX), selected in Cannes in 1994 in the Cinéma en France section, is critically-acclaimed. The following year, YOUTH WITHOUT GOD (JEUNESSE SANS DIEU) also shows in Cannes in that same selection. She becomes a household name with THE NEW EVE (LA NOUVELLE EVE), presented in the Panorama section of Berlinale in 1999. REPLAY (LA REPETITION) is selected in Official Competition in Cannes in 2001. She follows up with THE VERY MERRY WIDOWS (MARIEES MAIS PAS TROP) and LES AMBITIEUX, presented at the Rome Film Festival. Her seventh feature LEAVING (PARTIR) is met with great success in France and abroad, and highlighted at Toronto International Film Festival. She comes back to Cannes in 2013 with THREE WORLDS (TROIS MONDES) in the Un Certain Regard section, later presented in Toronto. The film wins the Golden Bayard for Best Script in Namur. SUMMERTIME (LA BELLE SAISON), recipient of the Locarno Piazza Grande Variety Award, is nominated for two César in 2016.
