One of the film industry’s leading producers, Laura Bickford Productions was merged with River Road Entertainment for two years during which time they financed Ang Lee’s multiaward- winning « BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN », Steven Shainberg’s « FUR: AN IMAGINARY PORTRAIT OF DIANE ARBUS », starring Nicole Kidman, and Robert Altman’s swan song « A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION ».
Bickford made her producing debut in 1995 with « CITIZEN X » for HBO Pictures. Based on the true story of Russian serial killer Andrei Chikatila, the film was written and directed by Chris Gerolmo. « CITIZEN X » received a Cable Ace Award for Best Picture and earned multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominations.
