Née à Kigali (Rwanda), en 1987, Marie-Clémentine DUSABEJAMBO est une Réalisatrice et Scénariste. Elle est Ingénieure en Electronique et Télécommunications. Son premier film, "Lyiza" (2011), a eu le Tanit de Bronze du Court Métrage aux JCC 2012 en Tunisie. Son troisième court métrage "Une place pour moi (A Place for Myself) a fait sa Première Mondiale au Festival de Zanzibar 2016 en y gagnant trois Prix, puis le film a rapporté à nouveau un Tanit de bronze à Clémentine aux JCC 2016.
Son quatrième court métrage "Icyasha / Étiquette" (2018) a remporté le Zébu d'or panafricain fiction, aux Rencontres du Film Court à Madagascar - RFC 2019.

Pour son premier long métrage de fiction, BENIMANA, elle a participé aux ateliers et résidences suivants: Sud Ecriture, Ouaga Film Lab, Le Groupe Ouest/ LIM 2020 et Medienboard/Berlin Artist -In-Residency. Elle est également sélectionnée à la Fabrique des cinémas du monde de l'Institut français au festival de Cannes 2022.

Rwandan female scriptwriter and Film director

Born in Kigali (Rwanda), in 1987, Marie-Clementine DUSABEJAMBO is a female scriptwriter and Film director. "LYIZA" (2012) is her first short movie. Her third short film "A Place for Myself" (2016) World Premiered at Zanzibar FilmFest and won there 3 Awards. Both "LYIZA" and "A Place for Myself" won a Tanit bronze in Carthage Film Festival, in 2012 and 2016. Her fourth short film "Icyasha / Étiquette" (2018) won the
Golden Zébu for Panafrican Short (Zébu d'or panafricain fiction), at Rencontres du Film Court in Madagascar - RFC 2019.
Based is Kigali (Rwanda), she is an Engineer in electronics and telecommunication by training.

Born in Rwanda, Marie-Clementine Dusabejambo's journey as a filmmaker started in 2008, when she joined a group of young filmmakers in her neighborhood in Almond Tree Films. In 2010, she responded to a call-out for a script competition by the Tribeca Film Institute, which she won. This victory enabled her to make her first short film, LYIZA, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2011 and won a Bronze Tanit at the Carthage Film Festival in 2012. Clementine worked as a researcher for "Why We Hate?", a documentary series by Steven Spielberg and Alex Gibney. Her short films have been presented and awarded at several festivals, including the Carthage Film Festival, where she won the Tanit de Bronze in 2012 and 2018 in Carthage. Her first feature film, Ben'Imana, has been officially selected to screen in Cannes 2026 - Un Certain Regard.
