Abbesi Akhamie est une scénariste, réalisatrice et productrice actuellement établie à New York City. Elle est née à Heidelberg, en Allemagne, et elle est d’origine nigériane. Elle a une Licence en Communication (Université George Mason) et elle a fini en mai 2017 un Master en cinéma à l’Université de New York (NYU). Ces cinq dernières années, elle a fait plusieurs courts métrages qui ont été sélectionnés dans divers festivals.
Elle est la productrice du court métrage Samedi Cinema (2016, réalisé par Mamadou Dia), qui a été sélectionné au Festival de Toronto 2016. Son film de fin d’études à la NYU Patriarch dont le nouveau nom est Still Water Runs Deep (2017) constitue sa première réalisation professionnelle.

Nigerian-American screenwriter, film director, and producer.

Abbesi Akhamie is a writer, director, and producer currently based in New York City. She was born in Heidelberg, Germany and is of Nigerian descent. She has a BA in Communications from George Mason University and upon completion of her thesis she graduate film program at New York University (NYU), in May 2017. Over the past 5 years, she have made several shorts that have been featured at various festivals. She is the producer of the short film Samedi Cinema (16), which played the Festival. Her NYU Thesis Short Film Patriarch renamed Still Water Runs Deep (17) is her directorial debut.
