Izza Génini

Izza Génini est née à Casablanca en 1942. Vit en France depuis 1960.
Après des études de lettres et de langues étrangères à la Sorbonne et à l’Ecole des Langues Orientales, elle se consacre de1966 à 1970 aux relations extérieures des Festivals de Tours et d’Annecy.

De 1970 à 1986: Directrice de la salle de projection Club 70.

En 1973, création de la société SOGEAV, distribution des films en Afrique francophone (Rue cases nègres, Bob Marley, Reaggae sunsplash…), diffuser des films africains à l’etranger, produire des films (El Hal,Transes, Zeft, Haddad ect…), distribuer (Baiser de Tosca, Ablakon…).

> Since 1973, in charge of SOGEAV (now named OHRA), a company aimed at producing feature films (« Transes », « Zeft », « Hadda »?), promoting Moroccan films (« 1001 mains », « Alyam Alyam »), distributing films in Africa (« Rue cases nègres », « Bob Marley Exodus », « Salsa »…), and distributing wordlwide and in cinemas (« Baiser de Tosca », « Ablakon »?).


Filmography
Since 1987, Izza Génini has conceived, written and directed « Morocco Body and Soul », a collection of documentary films dealing with different aspects of Moroccan culture and society.
