Susan BERAZA est une réalisatrice, scénariste et directrice de festival. Elle est connue pour « Bag it » et « Massacre River: The Woman Without a Country » (2019).

Née en Jamaïque, elle a grandi à Puerto Rico en République Dominicaine. Les films stimulants de Suzan Beraza mettent les spectateurs au défi d’examiner leur vie et de considérer l’impact de leurs choix. Fondatrice de la société de production Reel Thing Films, Suzan porte plusieurs casquettes : de producteur, à monteuse en passant par réalisatrice.

Suzan Beraza est une Hispano-Latino-Américaine. Elle est née et a grandi dans les Caraïbes. Ses films ont été diffusés sur Independent Lens, World Channel, Pivot TV et sur Documentary Channel, au Lincoln Center et dans de nombreux festivals. Son premier film, « Bag it« , a remporté le Britdoc Impact Award à Berlin et a été diffusé dans plus de cinquante pays. « Uranium Drive-In » a reçu un financement du Sundance Institute et de Chicken and Egg et a été présenté à Good Pitch et au Hot Docs Pitch Forum. Le film a reçu le Big Sky Award, a été récompensé pour son excellence documentaire par l’Alliance of Women Film Journalists et a fait partie de l’American Film Showcase, un programme cinématographique international du Département d’État américain. Son plus récent film, « Massacre River: The Woman Without a Country » (2019), diffusé sur PBS en 2019, a reçu un financement de l’ITVS et a été sélectionné pour le Latino Media Market, la bourse Points North du Festival international du film de Camden et l’IFP Spotlight on Documentaries. Suzan est aussi directrice du festival Mountainfilm à Telluride, au Colorado, depuis 2017.
