Fils de vignerons, j’ai d’abord appris à faire des films avec mes frères et une petite caméra mini-dv. À l’âge de dix-huit ans, je me lance dans la réalisation de films indépendants, récompensés par la distinction du Jeune Talent de l’année 2014 par l’ARP (l’association des Auteurs-Réalisateur-Producteurs), avec le parrainage du réalisateur Gérard Krawczyk.
C’est ensuite la rencontre avec le documentariste burkinabè Souleymane Drabo qui m’amène à réaliser des films en Afrique de l’Ouest, et en particulier au Burkina-Faso. J’y expérimente par le biais du documentaire, trouvant peu à peu au gré des films mon langage cinématographique.
En 2016, je consacre un premier documentaire au sujet des mines d’or artisanales : « Ici, Personne ne Meurt ». Le film est alors vu dans 71 pays, sélectionné dans 397 festivals internationaux et remporte 134 Prix.
Lauréat de la Bourse Documentaire de la Fondation Jean-Luc Lagardère et de l’Aide au Parcours d’Auteur du CNC, je consacre cinq ans à la réalisation de « Si tu es un homme », mon premier long-métrage documentaire, tourné en immersion dans une mine d’or du Burkina-Faso. Le film, très bien accueilli par la presse, est sorti en salles en 2023.
