Wissam Charaf

Wissam CHARAF cinéaste libanais et français basé entre Beyrouth et Paris.

Né à Beyrouth (Liban) en 1973, Wissam Charaf est réalisateur et journaliste (notamment pour ARTE). Il a réalisé cinq courts-métrages dont le dernier, « Souvenir inoubliable d’un ami » (2018), a été récompensé à Pantin, Clermont-Ferrand, Rhode Island. Son long-métrage « Tombé du ciel » a été sélectionné à l’ACID, Cannes 2016.
Wissam est en post-production de son nouveau long-métrage de fiction « Dirty, Difficult, Dangerous » (2021).

Après avoir travaillé dans des radios indépendantes a Beyrouth a la fin des années 80, il part pour Paris en 1998. Il travaille comme monteur et cadreur de reportages pour la chaine ARTE.
Depuis, il a couvert la plupart des zones de conflit comme le Liban et le Proche-Orient mais aussi le Darfour, l’Afghanistan ou la Corée du Nord.
Pendant cette période il a également été assistant réalisateur sur des vidéo-clips (Sinead O’Connor, Asian Dub Foundation, Noir Desir entre autres) réalisés par Henri-Jean Debon.
Il a réalisé 4 court-métrages : Hizz Ya wizz, Un héros ne meurt jamais, L’Armée des fourmis , et Après ainsi qu’un documentaire It’s all in Lebanon.
Ces films ont participé a de nombreux festivals, comme Locarno, Belfort, Clermont-Ferrand, Visions du Réel, Carthage, Rotterdam, Dubaï et d’autres.
Tombé du ciel est son premier long-métrage (Première mondiale à la Sélection de l’ACID du Festival de Cannes 2016).

He made his first short film, « Hizz Ya Wizz », in 2004. In 2012 he directed his first documentary « It’s All in Lebanon », which was screened at many festivals around the world. « Heaven Sent » is his first full-length feature.
In 2021, Wissam is in post-production of the dramatic feature « Dirty, Difficult, Dangerous ».

Reżyser, operator i dziennikarz z Libanu. Urodził się w 1973 roku w Bejrucie. Zamieszkał w Paryżu w 1998 roku i zaczął współpracę z kanałem telewizyjnym ARTE jako operator i montażysta reportaży. W 2004 roku zrealizował swój pierwszy film krótkometrażowy « Hizz Ya Wizz ». W 2012 roku wyreżyserował pierwszy film dokumentalny « It’s All in Lebanon », który był prezentowany na wielu festiwalach na całym świecie. « Tombé du ciel » jest jego pierwszym pełnometrażowym filmem fabularnym.

وسام شرف ، المولود في بيروت عام 1973 ، مخرج وصحفي (في ARTE وآخرين). أخرج خمسة أفلام قصيرة ، كان آخرها Souvenir inoubliable d’un ami »,2018 « ، الذي حصل على جائزة في بانتان و في كليرمون فيران و في رود آيلاند. تم اختيار فيلمه الطويل « Tombé du ciel » ضمن ال ACID ، مهرجان كان 2016. وسام حاليًا في مرحلة ما بعد الإنتاج للفيلم الروائي الطويل « Dirty, Difficult,Dangerous »
