Fatiha Berber

Fatiha Berber (en arabe : فتيحة بربار), de son vrai nom Fatiha Belal (en arabe : فتيحة بلال), née le 11 février 1945 à la Casbah d'Alger en Algérie et morte le 16 janvier 2015 à Noisy-le-Sec, est une actrice algérienne de théâtre, cinéma et télévision.



Elle débutera sa carrière artistique très jeune avec le chant et la danse. Fascinée par les spectacles de Mahieddine Bachtarzi qu’elle suivait souvent avec ses parents, ce qui l’amena sur le chemin du conservatoire d’Alger vers la fin des années 1950. En 1959, elle a débuté dans l’orchestre de Meriem Fekkaï avant de rejoindre, quelques mois plus tard, le conservatoire d’Alger dans la section Art dramatique. La comédienne participera également à la lutte de libération nationale.A l’indépendance Fatiha Berber renoue avec l’art et jouera dans les Femmes savantes, du réalisateur Mustapha Gribi, en 1959, une adaptation de l’œuvre de Molière. On la verra ensuite dans "Ah Ya Hassen" et "Les Concierges" de Rouiched ainsi que "Diwan El Garagouz" (Les Chiens) d’Ould Abderrahmane Kaki. Fatiha Berber a aussi interprété de nombreux rôles principaux dans, entre autres, "Fait Divers" et "Hassen Taxi"… ainsi que dans plusieurs téléfilms et feuilletons dont "El-Bedra" (La Graine) et "El-La’Ib" (Le Joueur)…  Fatiha Berber fut aussi présidente de l’association des Amis de Rouiched.



Actrice emblématique du cinéma algérien, elle s’est éteinte à Paris suite à un arrêt cardiaque le vendredi 16 janvier 2015, à l’âge de 76 ans.

She began her artistic career very young with singing and dancing. Fascinated by the shows of Mahieddine Bachtarzi which she often followed with her parents, which led her on the path to the Algiers conservatory towards the end of the 1950s. In 1959, she began in the orchestra of Meriem Fekkaï before to join, a few months later, the Algiers Conservatory in the Dramatic Art section. The actress will also participate in the national liberation struggle. At independence Fatiha Berber returned to art and played in Les Femmes savantes, by director Mustapha Gribi, in 1959, an adaptation of Molière's work. We will next see her in “Ah Ya Hassen” and “Les Concierges” by Rouiched as well as “Diwan El Garagouz” (Les Chiens) by Ould Abderrahmane Kaki. Fatiha Berber has also played numerous leading roles in, among others, "Fait Divers" and "Hassen Taxi"… as well as in several TV films and serials including "El-Bedra" (The Seed) and "El-La'Ib "(The Player)… Fatiha Berber was also president of the Friends of Rouiched association.



Iconic actress of Algerian cinema, she died in Paris following a cardiac arrest on Friday January 16, 2015, at the age of 76.
