Le Caire, quelques semaines avant la révolution égyptienne de 2011. Une chanteuse de club est assassinée dans une chambre de l’hôtel Nile Hilton. Noredin, un inspecteur de police corrompu travaillant dans le terrible commissariat de police Kasr el-Nil, est chargé d’enquêter sur le meurtre. Petit à petit, il réalise que les coupables pourraient être liés à la garde rapprochée du Président. Il décide alors de changer de camp, en prenant délibérément partie en faveur des laissés-pour-compte du régime.
