Fidel Castro

Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz, né le 13 août 1926, est un ancien chef d’État et chef de gouvernement cubain. Il a été un des principaux leaders de la révolution cubaine, il a servi comme premier ministre de l’ile de février 1958 à décembre 1976, et ensuite comme président du conseil d’État de Cuba depuis sa création jusqu’à sa démission de cette fonction en février 2008. Il sert actuellement comme premier secrétaire du parti communiste de Cuba, une position qu’il a occupé depuis sa création en 1965. Le 24 février 2008, l’assemblée nationale a élu Raúl Castro pour lui succéder comme président de Cuba.

Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz (born August 13, 1926) is a Cuban politician and former president.[1] One of the primary leaders of the Cuban Revolution, Castro served as the Prime Minister of Cuba from February 1959 to December 1976, and then as the President of the Council of State of Cuba and the president of Council of Ministers of Cuba until his resignation from the office in February 2008. He currently serves as First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, a position he has held since its inception in 1965.
