Ramadan Suleman

Réalisateur et producteur sud-africain.
Né en 1955 à Durban (Afrique du Sud).
Très impliqué dans le théâtre alternatif africain. Ramadan SULEMAN est un des fondateurs du Dhlomo Theatre à Johannesburg, le premier théâtre « noir » d’Afrique du Sud.
il est diplômé de la London International Film School. Il a réalisé plusieurs courts métrages et documentaires. Son premier long métrage de fiction, Fools, a été sélectionné dans de nombreux festivals et a remporté plusieurs prix dont le fameux Léopard d’Argent à Locarno en 1997. Zulu Love Letter est son second long métrage.
Il est Co-Président (avec Marc Schwinges) de la South African Screen Federation (SASFED) et membre exécutif de l’Independent Producers Organisation (IPO),

South African Film Director and Producer.

Durban-born (in 1955), Ramadan SULEMAN was one of the founders of the Dhlomo Theatre in Johannesburg, South Africa’s first « black » run theatre. He studied film directing in Paris and the London International Film School.
Suleman has directed several documentaries and short films.

His first feature, Fools, has won the Silver Leopard at Locarno in 1997. His second film, Zulu Love Letter was screened at Venezia Film Festival in 2004 and has won a number of
international awards, including a special mention at DIFF 2005 (Durban).
