Narimane Mari

Réalisatrice, monteuse et Productrice algérienne. Narimane Mari produit des films de réalisateurs et artistes concernés par l’histoire contemporaine et réalise également ses propres des films : « Prologue » (2007), prix spécial à l’IFF. « Loubia Hamra » (2013), premier long métrage multiprimé, projeté dans plus de 100 festivals et musées internationaux. En 2015 elle réalise pour Hors Pistes au Centre Pompidou : « La Vie courante », un opéra sur l’intimité urbaine et produit « Dans ma tête un rond-point » de Hassen Ferhani (primé au FID, Torino, Belfort…), « Atlal » de Djamel Kerkar en 2016 (prix premier FID), « Fragments de rêves » de Bahia Bencheikh el Fegoun et « The End and the Means » de Pawel Wojtasik en 2018. « Le Fort des fous », son 2e long métrage, fait sa première à Locarno Cinéaste du Présent puis Toronto, NYFF, BFI, RIDM, Torino, Rotterdam, CPHDOX… Son dernier film « Holy Days » a remporté le prix CNAP au FID 2019 et a été présenté dans de nombreux festivals. Elle a produit, la même année le second long métrage de Hassen Ferhani, « 143 rue du désert ». Elle développe actuellement « Luciole dans le noir du temps » de Djamel Kerkar et « À nos amis » de Nicolas Klotz et Elisabeth Perceval.

Elle s’est associée à Jean-Baptiste LEGRAND et Olivier BOISCHOT pour créer Centrale Electrique (Paris), une structure de production et Allers et retours Films (Alger).

Narimane Mari was born in Algiers in 1969. She began her activity in France in 1990 with two consulting agencies in communication Devarrieux Villaret and Nogood Industry, of which she is a co-founder. She worked on the creation of culture extra for Liberation, France Soir and on various projects of magazines for Canal+ and France Television. At the same time, she has contributed to the development of contemporary art Galleries and has initiated a collection of photographic books. In 2001, she produced her first cinema film, « L’arpenteur », which won the Jean Vigo award. In 2010, she founded, in Algeria, ALLERS RETOURS FILMS in order to produce engaging documentaries and fictions. In 2007, she directed her first film « Prologue », a medium film about the artist Michel Haas. « Loubia Hamra » [2013] is her first feature film of fiction.
