Marwan Hamed

Né en 1977, Marwan Hamed a étudié la réalisation à l’Institut du Cinéma du Caire jusqu’en 1999.
Il débute au cinéma comme assistant réalisateur de plusieurs cinéastes égyptiens comme Sherif Arafa et Samir Seif.
Après une soixantaine de films publicitaires, il réalise trois documentaires : « Le Caire (Cairo) », en 1997, « Fin du Monde (End of the World) » en 1998, et « Abu El Rish » en 1999.
Il est aussi l’auteur de deux courts métrages de fiction : « El Sheikh Sheikha » en 1999, et « Lilly » en 2001.
« L’immeuble Yacoubian » (YACOUBIAN BUILDING, 2005) est son premier long métrage de fiction.
Son deuxième long métrage, « Ibrahim Labyad » (2009), est considéré comme l’un des films les plus choquants sur les bidonvilles égyptiens.
Sous la houlette de Yousry Nasrallah, il participe au film collectif « 18 jours » avec son court métrage de fiction « 19-19 », en 2011. Son 3ème Long métrage THE BLUE ELEPHANT (2014, fantastique) est primé à Louxor et Bruxelles).

Marwan Hamed was born in 1977, in Egypt. He graduated in the Higher Institute of Cinema in 1999, and has directed over sixty ads. He has made a number of short films, including « Cairo » (1997), « End of the World » (1998), « El Sheikh Sheikha » (1999) and « Lilly » (2001).

Marwan Hamed’s first feature THE YACOUBIAN BUILDING (Omaret Yacobean) [in 2005]was the gateway to his global success. The film screened in several film festivals such as Berlin Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival in 2006 where Hamed won The Best New Narrative Filmmaker. Marwan was also part of the movie 18 DAYS, collection of 10 short films, through his short 1919 and screened at Cannes Film Festival. His latest feature (in 2014) is El Feel El Azrak (The Blue Elephant), which is based on Ahmed Mourad’s best-seller book of the title. The film stars Karim Abdel Aziz, Khaled El Sawy, and Nelly Karim, and is one the top-grossing.

استطاع المخرج مروان حامد أن يحقق نجاحاً عالمياً بفيلمه الطويل الأول عمارة يعقوبيان، حيث عُرض الفيلم في العديد من المهرجانات السينمائية، منها مهرجان برلين السينمائي ومهرجان ترايبيكا السينمائي في 2006، والذي فاز المخرج الشاب من خلاله بـجائزة أفضل عمل أول، وشارك مروان حامد أيضاً في فيلم 18 يوم الذي ضم 10 أفلام قصيرة وعُرض في مهرجان كان السينمائي، حيث قدم مروان ضمنه فيلم 1919. الفيل الأزرق هو أحدث أفلام مروان حامد، وهو مأخوذ عن الرواية الأكثر مبيعاً للكاتب أحمد مراد، يشارك في بطولته كريم عبد العزيز، خالد الصاوي ونيللي كريم، وهو من الأفلام التي لا تزال تحقق إيرادات كبيرة حالياً
