Réalisateur et Scénariste suisse-algérien.

Karim Sayad est né à Lausanne en 1984 d’un père algérien et d’une mère suisse. Après l’obtention de son master en relations internationales de l’Institut des hautes études internationales et du développement de Genève (IHEID), il signe son premier film documentaire, Babor Casanova (2015, court métrage). Of Sheep and Men (2017) est son premier long métrage documentaire.

Swiss-Algerian Film Director and Screenwriter.

Karim Sayad was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, both from Algerian heritage (by his father) and Swiss heritage (by his mother). He completed a master’s degree in international relations at Geneva’s Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. He has directed the short film Babor Casanova (2015). Of Sheep and Men (17) is his debut feature documentary.

Karim Sayad was born in Lausanne in 1984 to an Algerian father and a Swiss mother. After completing an MA in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies of Geneva, he decided to become a documentary filmmaker. His first short,’Babor Casanova’, premiered in Locarno in 2015. It was then shown in festivals worldwide, and won awards at DocLisboa, Festival Dei Popoli and, among others, the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival.’Of Sheep and Men’ his first feature documentary was selected at TIFF Docs, São Paulo and Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal, and won the Special Mention at the MedFilm Festival
