22nd New York African Film Festival (May 1 – 25)

African Film Aficionados Rejoice!
The New York African Film Festival Returns May 1st, 2015

African Film Festival, Inc. is proud to bring the New York African Film Festival (NYAFF) back for its 22nd edition. From Senegal to Ethiopia, from Israel to Brazil, the faces and lives of Africa and her Diaspora will be in the spotlight this May.

We are happy to have the opportunity to bring you the very best in films, director and artist talkbacks, and more as we celebrate the International Decade of People of African Descent.

We’ll kick off the festivities with a town hall meeting at WNYC’s Jerome L. Greene Performance Space on Friday, May 1st at 7pm. The event, moderated by international journalist Femi Oke, will feature artists such as Blitz the Ambassador, music duo Les Nubians, and author Nana Brew-Hammond. The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. RSVP for the event. Seating is issued on a first come, first seated basis.

Following the town hall event, NYAFF brings an amazing crop of films to Film Society of Lincoln Center (May 6-12), Maysles Cinema Institute (May 14-17), and BAMcinematek (May 22-25). Tickets on sale soon! Stay tuned for details!!!
