Réservé et taciturne, vu comme étranger à la communauté par certains membres de celle-ci, Steven Grootboom se consacre entièrement à sa famille et à son potager qui lui assure un revenu. Son monde s’effondre quand un diagnostic établit qu’il est atteint d’un cancer du sein. La mauvaise nouvelle le dévaste et change sa relation avec sa femme mais surtout détériore celle avec son fils, qui prépare ses examens de fin de Bac.

Self-contained and reticent,
Steven Grootboom considered an outsider by some members of his community, lives for his family and his income generating vegetable garden. Unexpectedly, Steven’s world comes crashing down when he is diagnosed with breast cancer. This devastating news takes a toll on Steven, his wife and most of all Steven’s relationship with his son who’s in the middle of his school leaving examinations.
