Le 1er mars 2000, après deux ans de formation et de répétition, le premier cirque acrobatique aérien d’Afrique, Circus Baobab, part sur les routes de Guinée. De Conakry à N’Zérékoré, de présentation en présentation, la troupe s’enfonce au coeur du pays.

Inspirándose en una antigua leyenda que cuenta cómo los hombres robaron el tambor a los monos, este espectáculo pletórico de belleza asocia las técnicas del nuevo circo con las danzas y percusiones tradicionales guineanas. En torno del periplo por las pistas circenses de Guinea, de sus representaciones en las plazas de los pueblos, la película se concentra sobre la vida diaria de la compañía, restituyendo paso a paso esta aventura artística y humana.



Taking his inspiration from an ancient legend which tells of how men stole the drum from monkeys, this marvellous spectacle mixes techniques from the new circus with traditional dances and percussion music from Guinea. Following the troupe on its long tours of the country and filming its performances in village squares, the documentary concentrates on the daily life of the actors and provides a step by step description of this artistic and human adventure.
