Rachid Benallal

Rachid Benallal est un réalisateur, scénariste et chef monteur algérien (parfois crédité sous le nom de Rachid Benallel), né en 1946 à Alger en Algérie.

Rachid Benallal commence ses études de cinéma à l'INC d'Alger et les termine à l'IDHEC de Paris (diplômé en montage). À son retour en Algérie, il travaille comme assistant réalisateur pour la télévision algérienne et réalise deux courts métrages. À partir du début des années 70, il devient chef monteur et monte une douzaine de longs métrages algériens, dont certains parmi les plus significatifs du moment (notamment pour Mazif, Allouache et Haddad). Au total, Rachid Benallal a monté plus de 32 longs métrages et autant de courts Métrages 35 mm. Il a également travaillé au Maroc comme monteur dans 15 longs Métrages et 7 courts métrages en 35 mm entre 1994 et 2001. Scénariste du film "Un Toit, Une Famille" long métrage fiction 35 mm (1979), Rachid Benallel, réalisa son premier long métrage en 1993, "Ya Ouled", sur l'enfance entre la guerre et l'indépendance. Il coréalisera le film "Si Mohand u M'hand" sur l'une des plus importantes figures de la culture berbère en 2003 avec Lazid Khodja. Son dernier film a été réalisé dans le cadre d'Alger, capitale de la culture arabe en 2007 et s'intitule "La Dernière Solution". Benallel travailla également dans l'audiovisuel en tant que réalisateur et mettra en scène une série de 17 épisodes de l'émission "Tranche De Vies" entre 1993 et 1994 ainsi que l'émission de jeux "Chkoun", en 1995.

Durant sa carrière, il a reçu plusieurs distinctions, dont un prix du montage à Marrakech 2001 et celui du meilleur spot publicitaire (Tebessa, 1993). Rachid Benallal a également travaillé dans la formation comme superviseur de l'émission l'UFC (1991), comme enseignant en techniques cinématographiques au Centre culturel Abane Ramdane(1976), au Centre de formation de l'ENTV, Berlioz (1982) et à l'INADC Bordj El Kiffan (1986). En 2011, il est Président du Jury des 2èmes Journées Cinématographique d'Alger.

During his career, he received several distinctions, including an editing prize in Marrakech 2001 and that of best advertising spot (Tebessa, 1993). Rachid Benallal also worked in training as supervisor of the UFC show (1991), as a teacher in cinematographic techniques at the Abane Ramdane Cultural Center (1976), at the ENTV Training Center, Berlioz (1982) and at INADC Bordj El Kiffan (1986). In 2011, he was President of the Jury of the 2nd Algiers Cinematographic Days.
