Bahia Allouache

Journaliste, réalisatrice, scénariste et productrice algérienne.

Née à Algers, Bahia Allouache est une journaliste qui, entre Paris et Alger, écrit sur le cinéma et la musique pour le web et la radio.
Bahia Allouache, une éminente journaliste de Cinéma d’aujourd’hui, Cinéma sans frontières, qui a travaillé aux côtés de Catherine Ruelle pendant 6 ans, collabore à la rédaction du site lecinemadanslesyeux.com depuis début avril 2012. Avant d’intégrer RFI, Bahia avait fait ses débuts à la rédaction de TSF JAZZ.
Journaliste-reporter, elle a parcouru l’Europe et l’Afrique, en poursuivant, en parallèle, des collaborations avec d’autres media (France Culture, Radio Nova…). Ses sujets de prédilections sont les cinémas du Sud et d’auteur, les musiques afro-américaines et les cultures urbaines.

En 2011, Bahia a réalisé son premier court métrage – « Une journée ordinaire » (2012), tourné à Alger, sélectionné en compétition dans la Sélection internationale du Festival du court-métrage de Clermont-Ferrand 2013 et présenté en compétition au 35e Cinemed. Cinéma bidon / Cinema chkoupi (2014) est son premier long métrage.
La cinéaste a créé la société Les Asphofilms, en Octobre 2015, à Paris. Le long métrage documentaire Enquête au paradis (Tahqiq fel djenna), en 2017 et le long métrage fictionDivine Wind (Rih rabani), en 2018, sont les deux premiers films co-produits par Les Asphofilms.

Le cinéaste Merzak Allouache est son père.

Born in Algiers, Algeria, Bahia Allouache is a journalist living in between Paris and Algiers, and writing about cinema and music for website and radios. Shot in Algiers, Another odinary day, her first short film, was selected in competition at 35th Cinemed. Phony Cinema / Cinema chkoupi (2014) is her first long feature.
Les Asphofilms (Paris, France) was founded in October 2015, by the filmmaker Bahia Allouache. It is a production company which stands up for an open-minded cinema d’auteur rooted in current affairs, paying close attention to social issues and still aiming at high cinematographic quality for its productions. The feature documentary Investigating Paradise (Tahqiq fel djenna), in 2017 and the feature Divine Wind (Rih rabani), in 2018, are the two first films co-produced by Les Asphofilms.

The filmmaker Merzak Allouache is her father.
