From Beijing to Hong Kong: Chinese cinemas and histories (1920 – 1950)
* Around 15 works, mostly uknown, map out individual director’s trajectories during three decisive decades. A view on bot film history and History.

South Africa: A Stymie history through the lens
* In collaboration with the saisons croisées France-Afrique du Sud 2012/2013, the festival situates the specific place held by representations in this country through a series of rarely-seen South African films.

100 years of Indian cinema
* Celebrated elsewhere in Nantes, this centenary will give us the opportunity to discover a selection of major Indian features. Beyond well-known directors already screened at the F3C, discoveries and hidden gems will be shown. Special Evening on November 20th with attendance of distinguished musician Wassifudin Dagar for a one-night-only concert and the screening of Mani Kaul’s Drupad.

Focus on current brazilian cinema
* A selection of short and feature-lenght documentary and fiction films explores current themes and forms that infuse Brazilian cinema of the 2000s with a renewed energy.

At a crossroads
* Migrations, trips, daily work, roving lifes, initiatic experiences: as much as a fantasy, the road is a physical reality that offers the possibility of an apprenticeship of the world. Memorable trips with Omirbaev, Kiarostami and others.
