« L’Egypte dans le cœur de l’Afrique » est le slogan de la cinquième édition du Festival du Cinéma Africain de Louxor, avec Omar Sharif et Faten Hamama figurant sur l’affiche de motivation.
Au cours de la cérémonie d’inauguration, Claudia Cardinale, Danny Glover et le héros de film « Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran » donneront leur témoignage personnel d’Omar Sharif.
Sayed Fouad, scénariste et président du Festival du Cinéma Africain de Louxor a annoncé que la cinquième édition du festival se déroulera du 17 au 23 Mars 2016. Fouad a également dévoilé l’affiche de LAFF 2016 montrant Omar Sharif et Faten Hamama dans un instantané du film  » Conflit dans la vallée « , réalisé par Youssef Chahine et qui a été filmé dans Louxor en 1954. L’affiche a été conçue par Ahmed Siam. De nombreux artistes contemporains d’Omar Sharif ont été invités à la cérémonie d’ouverture, y compris Claudia Cardinale, Danny Glover et Pierre Boulanger, héros de « Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran »
La cinquième édition du LAFF marque la durabilité du festival et la permanence de nombreuses innovations artistiques.
LAFF est une initiative de la Fondation Jeunes artistes Indépendants. Il est soutenu par les ministères de la Culture et du Tourisme, des Affaires étrangères et la collaboration de l’Union des professionnels du cinéma et du Gouvernorat de Louxor.

« Egypt in the heart of Africa » is the slogan of the fifth edition of the Luxor African Film Festival, with Omar Sharif and Faten Hamama appearing on the motivational poster.
During the opening ceremony, Claudia Cardinale, Danny Glover and the movie hero of Monsieur Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Koran will give their personal testimony of Omar Sharif.
Sayed Fouad, scriptwriter and president of the Luxor African Film Festival said the fifth edition of the festival will run from 17 to March 23, 2016. Fouad also unveiled the poster of the festival showing Omar Sharif and Faten Hamama in a snapshot of the movie « Clash in the valley » directed by Youssef Chahine and which was filmed in Luxor in 1954.The poster was designed by Ahmed Siam. Many contemporaries of Omar Sharif have been invited to the opening ceremony, including Claudia Cardinale, Danny Glover and Pierre Boulanger, movie hero of « Monsieur Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Koran »

The fifth edition of LAFF marks the sustainability of the festival presenting many artistic innovations.
LAFF is an initiative of the Young Independent Artists Foundation. It is backed by the Ministries of Culture and Tourism, Foreign Affairs and with the collaboration of the Syndicate of film professionals and the Governorate of Luxor.

In collaboration with Carthage Film Festival, LAFF will screen awarded films at Carthage Film Festival during its past editions in the presence of their prominent directors.
Among them: Teza by Haile Gerima, In Casablanca, Angels Don’t Fly by Moroccan director Mohamed Asli, Adventures of a Hero by Algerian director Merzak Allouache and Black Wogs Your Neighbours
by Mauritanian director Mohamed Hondo, Man of Ashes by Tunisian director Nouri Bouzid and many others.

From her side, director Azza Elhosseiny announced that the reception of films participating in the fifth edition will begin August 15 and will run until December 15, 2015 and the films selected for the competitions will be announced on 1st January 2016.
