Un village quelque part en Algérie. Orgueilleux et fanfaron, Mounir aspire à être reconnu à sa juste valeur. Son talon d’Achille : tout le monde se moque de sa soeur, Rym, qui s’endort à tout bout de champ. Un soir, alors qu’il rentre soul de la ville, Mounir annonce sur la place du village qu’un riche homme d’affaires étranger a demandé la main de sa soeur. Du jour au lendemain, il devient l’objet de toutes les convoitises. Aveuglé par son mensonge, Mounir va sans le vouloir changer le destin des siens…

Divertente ed ironica commedia in un villaggio nella regione delle Aurès (Algeria). Mounir è molto attento alle apparenze e l’unico neo della sua famiglia è Rym, la sorella narcolettica che si addormenta all’improvviso scatenando l’ilarità e l’imbarazzo dei presenti. Mounir l’adora e non vuole riconoscerne la malattia. Una notte, ubriaco, annuncia agli amici che Rym sta per sposare un ricco uomo d’affari. La notizia si diffonde e Mounir per non sfigurare deve tener fede alla sua dichiarazione e comincia i preparativi per il matrimonio.
